A little bit about me
Sarah Cowling has been involved in the arts since moving to London in 1993. She has degrees in history and education as well as participating in a number of local art classes and workshops.
Sarah works in acrylics and enjoys collage, mixed media and experimental techniques. Her work can range from miniatures to larger pieces, up to 40” by 60” (so far).
She often creates her own stained papers and has been known to add recycled bits to her works. Subject matter can range from slightly realistic to abstract with themes such as
colour, shape, family, travel, history and the quirks of human nature.
Sarah is a member of the Brush and Palette Club, the Gallery Painting Group, the Lambeth Art Association and the Collage Collective. For a number of years, Sarah taught art for the Arts Project in London, focusing on collage and acrylic painting. She has done workshops for art groups and private events.
Sarah has participated a number of times in juried shows at Gallery Lambton, Gallery in the Grove, The Woodstock Art Gallery, the Gallery Painting Group, the Brush and Palette Club, the Lambeth Art Association, the London Fringe Festival, Art Focus 2008 (St. Paul’s Cathedral), the Art Exchange Miniature Show, and the Westland Gallery Square Foot Show.
